Ballad of Life
The start of life is in the spring.
Maturity, the summers bring.
By autumn days we've made the climb,
and earned a peaceful wintertime.
Spring is the time the world gives birth
to new life everywhere.
The buds come out upon the trees
and hope is in the air.
As we are born we spend our spring
in life without a care.
When springtime melts to summer days
with flowers in full bloom,
with sunshine smiling over all
there is no hint of gloom.
The summer of our lives we live
in mother nature's womb.
As summer ages into fall,
leaves scatter on the ground.
The little creatures of the earth
have hidden food around.
The autumn of the days of life,
a time of joyful sound.
The winter comes with cleansing quilt
of purity in snow.
The moon shines down on icicles
that shimmer in the glow.
And as for us, we now reflect
in peace, of all we know.
The start of life is in the spring.
Maturity, the summers bring.
By autumn days we've made the climb,
and earned a peaceful wintertime.
