Lighthouse Memories chapter 2
As she sits on the beach she starts to remember that night she lost the love of her life during that terrible storm. The winds blowing at hurricane strength, waves that seemed twenty feet high hitting the ship and crashing into the rocks on the cliffside. She was watching from the lighthouse Watching her captain fight against all odds to make it to safety.
As she watched the captain, her lover, fighting against the raging sea trying to sail his ship safely into the harbor. The crushing waves the remains of the turbulent storm were crashing against the jagged rocks, drawing his ship ever nearer to them. The lighthouse beacon shining brightly out into the darkened waters as she watched the ship floundering, being thrust against the deadly rocks. Standing against the wrought iron railing looking out at the deck of the ship wondering if Capt Sean can see her she waves hoping that he can see her
Her teary eyes shown brightly against the dark starless night. Her hair being whipped around her face by the gusting winds as she stands in the soft moonlight Clenched in the palm of her hand, she held tight a locket of gold that her captain gave her before his last voyage. Telling her that he will still be with her once again soon. Inside, he place of himself on one side and her on the other, looking at the picture of the love she would never be able to kiss, able to love and able to hold again.
The wind crashing the sea against the shore and the jagged rocks that night The lights in the town of Ashton shimmering, almost out of sight of the sinking ship. Deserted now, the beach was dark, lonely and cold as the waves crashed ashore. This is the saddest night, and it seemed, like the night would swallow her whole. She felt numb inside, feeling her heart was torn right out of her, thinking that her world has ended, trying to do what's right. Her once soft and tender now bold and fighting against the anger building inside of her.
As the crimson sun began to rise, casting the early morning light, against the calm pale blue skies she looks out over the railing seeing the float wreckage below pieces of the ship strewn all over the beach. Again the tears filled her eyes, still clutched the locket, with all of her hopes praying against the odd that her Captain would still be alive. Crying she leans on the lighthouse wall then sits on the bench as she looks out to the horizon and the rising sun.
