Reaching Out
She reaches out her cold lifeless hand
Beyond the barriers of fear between life and death
Reaching for peace from the love she knew
Wanting to feel his hand as she once did before she engaged her deadly quest.
She just can't conceive an existence without him
She longs for things from long ago
Knowing never again can she touch him
Longing for the love and warmth that would make her glow.
She wished she could breach the thick sludge of death
To let him know her love shall always be
To tell him the only memories left
His touch, his kiss, all the things he used to say.
Wailing and crying because she can feel the loneliness
Hoping he will hear her cries
If only she could swim through death's placid ness
Because she thinks it is unfair she died.
So until he day she can reach his soul
She will reach out forever and a day
For reaching him is now her only goal
She will not rest until he submits to clay
