In corridors long and lonesome I toss my words out to them
but their ears are deaf and no one really hears what I say;
eyes cast toward some sunset my eyes cannot find in this world.
Pressing forward my eyes are blinded by mutual terror metted out
upon anyone willing to stand still long enough to take it;
willing victims we all must be to bring about no real difference.
What aches within my being no longer matters at all
as no one seems to care about anything at all;
a passion no longer felt across a flattening world.
Words mean nothing as they pour forth to be heard
because no one actually hears what is being said;
deaf, blind, muted and unmoved are we.
