'ere I sit in
my quasimodian bastille.
From campaniles I spy
suitors who would
approach me.
Yet from these belltowers
I could be Rapunzel
releasing locks
for all lovers
to access me.
Though they try,
in their sailboats, they will fail.
I am elusive; ever hungry,
the quintessential tease.

My island penitentiary,
meant to withhold
such a succubus as I,
fails to hold lust
from their dreams.
This tower of
Mother Earth
though hold me she does
tis not food enough.
I would be free
to love, to succor,
to feed on
all the men
who yearn for me.
