Plight of Light
Plight of Light
Have you ever looked and tried to find,
The secrets of the day and night,
Walk while seeing, going blind,
The pathway to the dark or light?
Have you ever looked and tried to stop,
The water going down the drain?
As you watch the hail beat the crop,
Praise the ruin and pray for rain?
You enjoy your maundering,
While you hope to break the wandering…
Do you see destruction and laugh with glee,
While your heart is breaking at its plight?
Do you grasp the dark and feel you’re free,
While inside you scream with fright?
Have you found your way and feel confused,
Arrive on time and feel too late,
Accepted life and yet refused,
Feel the love while filled with hate?
While you search for a resemblance,
Of Light in your remembrance,
Stand in rank and beat the Darkness’ drum,
Yet remember where the Dark is coming from.
Some who hold the Light
Have let the torch grow dim,
While the Dark grows and grasps,
And few will fight.
Hidden in the Dark you can
Survive…
But only in the Light you feel alive.
Test it, try it,
Find your way to freedom,
Take it, hold it,
Enter daylight’s kingdom.
Stand before the Sun,
When dark is dead, you cannot run,
Darkness at its core the light will scorch,
Stand with light; take up and light its torch.
