Artist Ernie Barnes

Americans became familiar with the art of Ernie Barnes via the television show "Good Times," and his appointment as the Official Artist of the XXIII Olympiad at Los Angeles. But his work gained critical acclaim and collector strength through Manhattan's prestigious Grand Central Art Galleries.

Today, Ernie Barnes continues to be one of the most collected artists in America.

One of my most favorite artists ever. Ernie Barnes has an AWESOMELY diverse collection of paintings & drawings. I 1st was enthralled with his talent by the beautiful artwork that appeared on the 1970s hit-show Good Times. I would love to share with you some of my favorites from his collection... More can be found on his websites: ErnieBarnes.com and Ernie Barnes Art Collection ----- I hope you enjoy his artwork as much as I do.

Ernie Barnes' paintings have made him one of the most outstanding examples of contemporary art of the past century. Mr. Barnes' oeuvre of intense emotive power is dynamic with fervor and shows urban love, strength & extraordinary skill. I hope you've enjoyed!

Dear Ms Jacquii,

What a treat to find this. Mr. Barnes' work comes from his abyss. His work, evokes emotion, strength, spirituality, urban love, great craftsmanship, and I absolutely love the play on distortion in his works. I to noticed his work from the show "Good Times", and am so glad you displayed this and shared his web page. Ahhhhh, that drawing of "Defeat" is just fantabulous. I could "feel" what he was trying to depict. Makes me want to write a poem based on that drawing, and I think I will. Very inspiring!!!!He is AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!! I found another painting that I love of his, that Kanye West Commissioned.

AWESOMENESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks Ms Jacquii!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!{{{{~~**Dr. Rob**~~}}}}

I heard they were auctioning off the brick - I would soooo love to have it!
ALSO - I saw the Kanye-commissioned piece = They say it's HUGE, like 9 feet x 6 feet or so. I think he said something about it being on the ceiling of his dining room

Kewl stuff KIM - thanx for posting
