The 5 Skies
Do you wear me in day?
I wear you in night,
sky of wonder, you let me think of things beyond,
holding your thunder back,
sky of beauty, your finest hue of blue,
you call my name, and I can't stop staring at you,
sky of winter, you chill me to the bone,
your cloak is as deep as a cave underneath the soul,
sky of mercy, you bring my eyes to gentleness,
my tone becomes like that of a child,
sky of majesty, you keep your luster,
your wise decisions, keep my sky forever showing care,
My skies show days between your eyes and mine,
I can connect just by looking up,
and see the ages leading us.

My Dearest Erik,
When I first read this, I thought , how powerful is such a spiritual love that one would equate the love with the vastness of the infinite sky. A loving sky so strong that it demands attention, and commands respect. The sky verse that I highlighted is exceptional and so beautiful, Erik. When I look up, I am thankful to have my faith about me and I know that my 5 Skies are there. I really can relate to this Erik. I thought the concept of the 5 Skies was a brilliant, and the poem was exceptionally executed as well.

Wow Erik, I had to read this one again a couple times. VERY nice concept here. I like it a lot.
I can’t even pick a favorite line. They are all so special!! Excellent job here, Erik!! Sheesh, everyone has to watch out for this side of you. The soft, gentle side packs quite a punch!

WOW! Another very interesting write from you ERIK - This is quite novel - "The 5 Skies" - Where did that concept come from?
Anyway - aside from my nosiness - I really like the last stanza - It's like after having gone through so much - finally making the connection.
Very nice write ERIK - of course though - I'm coming to expect that from you - You've quite the talent!

thanks msJ well the 5 skies came from Native American backrounds,
their culture sat in my head for awhile, so thats where it came from,
and also I relate the skies to my family and my love,
to give it a broader range they are skies as a metaphor for the blessing that surround you and also the actual sky
thanks so much msJ,
I won't let it go into my head instaed i'll let more poetry go into my head
you guys keep me on my toes
