ALL IN THE WAY YOU VIEW ~ QUATERN

Is it a hand or is it a shoe?
It's all in the way you view.
Would a glove or mitten fit?
Could you put your foot in it?

Is its shape tried and true?
Is it a hand or is it a shoe?
An optical illusion of some sorts,
a magic trick your mind contorts.

It's funny how the art plays tricks
to make you see this clever mix.
Is it a hand or is it a shoe?
I guess I'll leave it up to you.

Sometimes appearances are out of the norm
when shapes take on different form.
So easily we misconstrue.
Is it a hand or is it a shoe?

Hey Moonchild!

You know what it is with your poem that I got a good a hoot out of reading it? It sounds almost like a kind of Dr. Seus rhyming to it which, as a kid, I absolutely loved his books. ("Green Eggs and Ham" will forever by one of my fav. childhood books before I liked reading). It also has that kind of playful tone to it, like you're playing with the reader as they read the poem, asking them these questions, and I liked that as well. I don't know the form that you're working with, but this certainly a very fun read for me.

And with the question of whether it's a hand or a shoe, well, looks like a hand, but if it was a shoe it'd be a high-heeled stiletto. Anywho, great job and keep on writing away!

Thank you Sarah and I see a hand too.
The whole idea of it is the illusion of it.
That's what I was trying to say in my poem.
This form is a Quatern where the first line becomes the
second in the second stanza and then the 3rd and then 4th.
It's an easy form. Thanks for reading

lol...Karen...I like the "bump"...I did miss this piece, however...so thanks!

I think it's a shand or a fand (shoe hand) (foot hand)

As usual, you find the most intriguing pics and do justice to them in poetry...we might not know what it is, but we have fun reading your piece...I'm still at a loss...lol!
