Autumn's Kiss
~
The leaves are colorful radiant tones
as children play in piles of fallen leaves
The sound of rustling, crunching
As their tiny feet stomp over them
~
The delicate fragrance of apples, burning leaves
And roasting chestnuts drift about
As the months turn colder we can feel..
And hear the sounds change
~
As the tapestry of foliage is ever changing
Nature begins her long sleep
The coolness brings hibernation
To some of nature creatures
~
In October scarecrows are stuffed
Corned mazes and haunted houses are built
Costumes are made for Hallowe’en
And all the children are excited
About all Hallows Eve
~
As November arrives
Pies are baked,
Ciders are warmed and tasted
candied apples are made
~
As we ready for mom best feast
Her banquets abundant
and our problems .. least
~
In the quiet evening bliss
walks are soulful in
~
Autumn's~ kiss.

Fall is my favorite season and you've managed to capture its essence brilliantly... Very soon we'll hear the rustlin' leaves caught in their eddies, pick the swelled fruit from the trees, see the cornstalks and jack-o-lanterns decorate the neighborhood and delight in the festivities on the day we give thanks.... Oh, this is the best time of year, thank you for some great visuals this mawnin'............................ Nice write...

Hi Bear,
This is a nice poem to start my Saturday evening. I enjoyed colorful scenes and thoughts of pleasures the years end brings.
We don't see a lot of fall color in southern California, the leaves start to turn yellow and fall off the trees usually by the first freeze.
but, we do enjoy halloween. A lot of people decorate their yards, and near here there is a nut farm that hosts a yearly scarecrow contest at pumpkin harvest time. Lots of people make the drive, and bring children to choose a pumpkin from the acres of pumpkin patch.
I use to take the kids when they were small, but I grew tired of the crowds and over priced pumpkins. This year we planted pumpkins in our own yard.
The vine is taking over the back fence and even climbing into the trees. We brought a few pumpkins in already.
Thank you s omuch for your fantastic comment the trees here are already starting to change colors and a few trees have lost their leaves the weather is cool and cold at night getting down into the 40's and higs of 70s its very nice soon we'll have the full color change
hugs kisses

Dear Bear,
Our resident "Connoisseur" of Love has done it again! This was bombastic! I too love everything about Autumn and is my favorite season. The smells, the colors, Halloween, etc. The title is most fitting and inviting...even the color you selected to type your text in all is in the essence of "Autumn". This poem made me wish that if I closed my eyes and looked out the window it would just like you scribe here Bear...so so so BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!
p.s...Hmmm you are a chef...how bout some of my favorite pumpkin pie to help celebrate Autumn, lolol
Love Ya Bear!!!!
