Bells

Bells

In heaven bells rang.

Angels set wing

sky divers above the sea.

~

Into the great storm

keeping rhythm,

with the muse of time.

~

To mast clenched

where damaged sails

in water bled,

~

and God blew

his great breath,

a wind against wrath.

~

to stead the ships great hull,

clear of jagged rocks,

destined to break the bow.

Wow Jolie...... I don't know how I missed this write...... this is simply marvelous. What a wonderful picture it shows of old ships in storms at sea. I am sure they really relied on divine provenance to see them safely back on land. I quite enjoyed this.... I believe I am gonna add it to my favorites...... Yes I most definitely will!

I thinking about that song, " You Can Ring My Bell!" for some odd reason. But I agree that bells have played a huge part in society in keeping us safe from harm. Perhaps they are heaven sent as you said in this great work.

Thank you everyone,
I wrote this one day sitting at the beach,
I think it would make a beautiful painting.

Hello JolieH!

Wow, this just has some great imagery with this poem and sucked me right into it from the beginning of the first stanza and the first few lines of it... You ended the first stanza with that great image of: Angels set wing
sky divers above the sea.
And I agree with you, this would just make a beautiful painting too but it's a beautiful poem as is.

I can't really decide on what is my favorite piece and imagery going on with your poem... and let me tell you this is usually not a difficult thing for me to find a set of lines or stanza that I enjoyed the most. But, for your poem I can't just state one part or lines but I have to say that I really do enjoy it all as a whole. I think that this is just a great poem for the reasons of the flow, rhythm, imagery, and finally just the uniqueness of it. I really am glad that I came across this and enjoyed reading it and imagining all that was going on in the poem. Thanks for sharing it and keep on writing away!
