Blame for shame
He bases his worth on what others see
not who he is but how he's perceived
shaming himself to win others praise
sinks ever lower not willing to raise
bitterness rules every breath he does breath
Anger grows stronger rarely does leave
blaming all those who in him instill fear
Damn the poor bastard who stands in the mirror
for I am the one who holds myself down
gets walk upon and gets pushed around
never notice my strengths, my heart or my drive
if no one gives praise I am not alive
how does one fight an enemy as this
not with a gun or an iron like fist
the man in the mirror has to beleive
that my one greatest love should always be me

Cal, I really like the tempo of this piece, and the inner struggle it reveals. It almost seems like it was written for the Creativity Challenge (This is Me Poem)

Hey another poem, you finally did it. This is very nice, feeling angry at the world - like me today- grrr I do feel so angry, just in a rotten mood - for no good rotten reason, well yes there is a reason, several reasons. One of the biggest reasons is coming home to a messy house after I work all day. Not just the mess, the city has been driving big trucks behind our house and a lot of dirt blew in the windows. Everything was covered in dirt, so I just washed the entire kitchen, but there is still dirt everywhere eles. The dogs are even dirty from running up and down the fence when the trucks drive by. I don't know why they need to make 50 passes.
The dishwasher isn't working right. I ran it three times. etc... etc... etc...
