The Blues
The blues
a word
so very smooth
floating through your world like cumulous clouds
soft and flowing off the tongue like honey.
A state not sought after by many
representing cracked hearts and shattered dreams
displaced trust and diverging paths
elusively hiding in betrayed byways
fogged senses cover the pain
clarity lost
clarity gained.
Straining singers seeking solace
in self-serving songs of woe
inevitably
deceived by time
an un-alluring state
in love restraints
emotions grate like screeching chalk
lying raw and hungry
waiting
for the next fix
of love.
A time entwined
with glorious dismay
many shoulders offered
to while away the long lonely days
the heart's quiet fury
moaning still
while the blue's fever
rages
easing the hours
with Etta James
soothing the pain away
righteously angry
saving tears
for another day

I am in awe of artists who have the ability to cry out their feelings as do the Blues artists can. I always feel they have some insight into my own heart and head when I listen to them...and I do quite frequently. You work here is a great echo of how they express it. You did a very good job, Fruit Puppy.
