Storytime

The football player scores six points
and thrusts his finger to the sky.
For it’s his team that God anoints
all others can but wonder why.

The soldiers fight to kill their foe
and each of them must truly know
that God has chosen them to win
their foes to die because of sin.

And children huddle in their fright
and see their friends killed in the fight.
and those with mothers firmly grasped
close their eyes till the turmoil past.

Then God looks down and from his height
takes action to affect the fight.
And from the crowd a cheer is come
for righteous Notre Dame has won!.
