Ecocide

Someday, when there is no more ozone
We will take notice
When our Eco Mother has given up her ghost
And she lies dormant, no longer giving us sustenance
We will take notice

Someday, when there is no more fresh water to drink
We will take notice
When the Earth has been contaminated to the point of no remedy
We will take notice

When she offers nothing but the warm blood of men to drink
When she will not hear our pleas
When she will beckon men to their graves
For their insolence
Only then, will we take notice.

The soldiers will have no more wars to fight
Enemies will become allies in the fight for life and survival
And this truly will be the third world….
From the sun?
Or for what we’ve done?

Where goes the lakes, and the rivers?
Where goes the air?
Where goes everything that tells my story?
It is fast fading into memory
And no one will even take notice….

Mother Earth has begged us to care for her
I heard her cry in earthquakes and tsunamis, hurricanes, and droughts
No one listened
I heard her cries on both sides of the prime meridian
No one listened

You are so right Frederick,
Everyone should pay more attention to the earth's needs. Everyone should forget wars, missles, and neuclear experimenting before it's too late. We should all care about the earth, spend our time and money on the earth, take care of her so she can take care of us. The human race is designed to self destruct. They can't see it, they don't care, like you said until it's too late. Someday the earths gone, everyone's gone and that's the end of her story. That's the end of the earth's story.

Nobody can write enough about this subject or say it loud enough.

Hey now TBP,

This is probably the scariest write this season - because it's all true.....
We're killin' this beautiful planet - and "nobody is takin' notice".............
Fantastic write, I liked mucho.....
