Eve Of Humanity (… about me)

Eve Of Humanity
(… about me)

strolling through a shady glen is she,
integrity intact.
upon the precipice of a ridge in need,
devout impact.
into those forests like wilder beasts –
butterflies relaxed.

wandering like a vagabond – gone alone
down memory lane.
down boulevards to the house of thrones
where saints doth reign.
beyond the sands of time gone,
withering vain,
until the hour glass gleamed like whittled stone,
shining again.

she whets the appetite of many tired,
piquing curiosities.
she is like chestnuts over an open fire,
seeking liberty.
she is the Eve of a humanity mired –
all about me.

Such vibrant syntax here, MsJacquii...very uplifting and imbued with untamed gypsy spirit, like sands through the hourglass, so are the days of our lives. Eve of Humanity is mysterious. I think we are all searching for freedom and it's characters like us who do pique curiosity and of course, it is good to stroll down memory lane every once in awhile---lets us know where we've been and where we are going. I'd say I know a little bit more about you now MsJacquii---keep a little piece of that mask for yourself though---revelation is good for the soul...

Oooooo Ms Jacquii, this reads like a fine dream. Yes, I agree with Ms Sage of your fabulous syntactic morphology in this piece. Still poem speaks volumes. You have these mystery poems, that are like patches woven to a quilt, piece by piece. I love it!! Beautiful!!!!!!

Keeping the mask!
Thanx to both SAGE & PAINTED for responding to this poem - Yep it's a bit of "telling the secret" that went into making this piece - But hell, I don't like secrets anyway - But I shall endeavor to keep that mask LOL

Thanx ladies,
Jacquii.

Wow MsJ! You must be one heck of a woman as well as an ultra-fine poet! Love this piece - the alliteration of integrity intact and glass gleamed, the contrast of wilder beasts and butterflies, the rhythm and flow of the whole poem - all of these things make it a work of art that sticks in a reader's mind! Thank-you for Posting!

Hey TREE - Thanx for your comment - I was indeed trying to show both sides of the coin with this piece; Trying to essentially say night and dark, hot & cold - Wilderbeests, butterflies LOL - if that makes sense - I think you saw that about this piece though.

Again - thanx!

JAcquii.
