The First Thaw
wherein visages of ice
no longer point jagged,
and the cold snow finally lets go of my
precious flower, ragged,
coldly and warmly are two things that exist,
between Winter and Spring,
the snow needs to melt,
the sun gives its soft kiss,
When the snow lets go and covers a Robins breast,
and builds its tomb,
unholy, icy nest,
be gone thou villain seed,
let Freya intervene,
you are the one in heath,
this tragedy impede,
uncover my flower so I can love this Spring,
does do their dostile chattering,
I don't know but fall foe,
to a late Spring,
for God knows no amount of torture,
lest he turn my fragrant flower into a weed,
the first thaw had begun away snow,
away snow,
let me and my flower have each others peace.

WOW!!!
This is beautiful Erik... a vast change from your regular pace and style, and I love it. I love the imagery, the feeling of longing. This is absolutely stunning, it really is. I applaud you.

Dear Erik,
Indeed. How beautiful and delicate. This is like soft whispers, like soft prayers. There is allot of your style in this with a twist. It has an Old English nomenclature feel that heightens the images and voice in this piece. It is quite exquisite Erik, and I read this several times. Each time, I captured a new image, a new breath. Thank you for sharing this with us.
