library

pages shuffle with grace and pride,
books knowing much more than the humble folk
who briskly walk through the doors
could ever understand.

the light clicks of the keyboards roar in the background...
but the pages.
the pages engulf the senses,
words flying by as the murmer continues.
lost in a story,
returning the very last thing in mind.

libraries are a wonderful place
to escape.

I do love libraries, but I love the treasure trove of books taken away even more, to be read in the quiet of my own bed! Nice!

What a wonderful read, Seajay, thank you very much.
I love this poem because it explains truth of the library well.
The setting in the poem helps us to see a perfect picture of it

I think this poem is very well written
And I also love libraries very much, always have...

Quote:
books knowing much more than the humble folk
Ohh I love this line so much, it is just so true!

The ending of your poem is lovely, not just because the library is a good
place to escape too to read and work on things. But the ending touches me
on a very personal level...

Quote:
libraries are a wonderful place
to escape.
In high school I had no friends, every couple of years I might of had 1 true friend, but mostly long distance friends in entirely different schools... I was a depressed teenager, very depressed, I escaped to our school library for no one had to look at me. I could be alone there and not worry what people were saying or thinking about me. Of course not everyone was mean to me, I was invisible to most of the world. A group of a selected few liked to make fun of me, funny thing, they never though of checking the library to look for me. I felt safe there, I read and read some more and fell in love with many different authors, I smiled and cried to different stories.

If my school had of not had library who knows what I would of done, back then I will admit I was suicidal and a cutter sometimes, for a good part of those years, so anything could of happened... But I had to graduate because I promised my mother I would.

Anyhow sorry for rambling on there lol, I just wanted you to know this poem is beautiful and touched me on a personal level.

Thank you fo sharing
