That sweetens the night
That softens the slight
Of daylight?

Or is it the moonlight
That softens my heart
That coddles the start
Of insight?

Moon, in sky, remains objective;
Moonlight: intimate, reflective.

Moon and moonlight,
Silver lining, faithful friend.

One over my shoulder
One on my skin.
