Oh Wow! What a beautifully penned sonnet KAREN! Just lovely really and such heartfelt sentiments went into its creation no doubt. Hopefully you've written this one for me and my lover who happens to be incognito at this moment and unseen by my eyes, though I smile with a devilish twinkle in them... Anyway - long story.... But I do really love this sonnet. It flows so freely and reads as if it was so simple to write. Makes for an interesting delight.

Thanx for the sharing.

Jacquii.

This form and the sound of your poem reminds of the first sonnet that I read of yours. I really like the images of the heart and rose throughout the poem which fits your romantic tone of your poem perfectly. There's also this tenderness to it that really is nice when I'm reading it and adds even more to that romantic tone. The poem reads to me almost like a woman is opening herself up to love after going through a tough relationship and especially with the "bleeding heart" image with your last stanza.

And, talking about your ending I especially enjoyed it and your last two lines:

Oh fairest love, behold my bleeding heart.
Within your hands a rose’s thorns depart.

The last line seems to me that it signifies and giving your heart to this person and being like a delicate rose and removing your thorns when they hold you in their hands. And, with the image before being a bleeding heart to me it was almost like them mending that with their caring touch and I really liked thinking about the rose's thorns departing within their hands.

Anywho, altogether this is a lovely poem and I just really enjoy coming across your work and reading your poems that you've written. Whether your work is darker, or softer and more romantic, like this, I just enjoy your style and coming across your poety. So, be sure to keep on writing away and thank you for sharing!
