MY FAIREST LOVE ~ SONNET
There lies a simple love within mine heart,
Where wealth could never damage nor despoil.
A place where fairest beauty plays her part,
Where trust is built upon pure Eden’s soil.
The dark of yesterday no longer blinds.
Thine eyes now leadeth me into the light.
The dawning of tomorrow brightly shines.
No ghouls nor demons teeth again can bite.
The hand of love caressed my aging face,
Where yesterday no man would dare to touch.
Mine heart once beat within a bitter place,
But through the years I’ve grown to love so much.
Oh fairest love, behold my bleeding heart.
Within your hands a rose’s thorns depart.
