The Rider

As I leave my home for some fun and play
There seems to be some sort of evil stirring in the air
A chill is in the air so cold and gray
I'm saying to myself "Go out if you dare."

I'm very frightened but don't know why
I look out the door, a man all dressed in black
His clothing as black as the night, I give out a terrible sigh
I'm trying to keep my emotions in tact.

But the feeling of death is in the moonles night
Making me tingle and shiver
Oh I wish the moon was out so bright
But the darkness and black make me quiver.

He rides up and down and all around
I can hear the horse's ghastly trots
I can hear as the horse's hoofs hit the ground
I can tell this man is of an evil lot.

He never shows his face as if he's wearing a black veil
I want to run but I'm frozen by fear
Wonder why he is here? Guess he will never tell
Why he is here I guess will never be clear.

Hey LANAIA - eery (sp?) writing - just in time for All Hallows Eve eh?

Your poem reminds me of a saying: "The light of 1000 stars cannot equal the light of the Moon."

Makes me wonder what is that you see in the dark. I'd avoid those scoping eyes at all costs.
