Sonnet with a Smile
When I’m with her there’s magic

in the air -
a speck of stardust falls down

from the sky
to wink

invitingly within her eye
and we leave for a world that is so rare.
A world where anger

turns to happy grins

and lips are sealéd with a loving kiss
while cool

is measured by our tongues

in bliss
and hot

is how our love-making begins.
But some are shocked

when we start our role-play.
Huh!

Roll your eyes

or cry

, you think we care?
We’re not embarrassed

by what you may say
and never undecided

‘bout the masks we’ll wear -
a prince

and she’s my princess for a day -
we're living in sandcastles in the air.
