Southern Skies

Southern Skies
~
The alabaster moon is radiant and beautiful tonight,
As it sheds an eerie incandescent beam of light,
I wonder if this cadaverous sight appears,
Before you, as it appears here,
Or whether in the high southern skies,
Does it have a very different image there.
~
The stars are lustrous and illuminating,
Seemingly to loom closer to the Earth,
I yearn to visit you and gaze skyward.,
At the magnificent wonders
Clear of northern city’s smog.

Biography: Jacquii Cooke is a 32 year old Black Poet from Oak Ridge, Tennessee. As Webmistress of Poetry in Color Forum, she is devoted to the more abstract styles, especially those with a strong feminine voice that center around the topic of redemption and righting the wrongs of past transgressions.

Wow TOM - This poem is very nicely scribed - I really love the word "alabaster" - just beautiful + I once had a dog - She was just a cutiepie; she was all black with a white spot on her foot. She was a stray that I found in an alley - So I named her Alabaster (I called her Alley Girl) Ah- The irony

Anyway - I found this poem very soothing and calming - reminds of a brilliant Spring night in Tennessee.

Very nice sharing = Thanx.

Jacquii.
