A Spoonful Of Madness

Floating on a rainbow, billowing just below the clouds
Finding the sound of silence to be deafeningly loud,
A spoonful of madness will deliver my journey’s end
If I can just remember what is real and what’s pretend.

A magnificent theophany bathed in golden glow
Appearing from the ether-world commanding me alone,
A spoonful of madness is why I’ve visualised this god
But it could have just as easily been a purple frog.

I’m hearing voices call to me from deep within my mind
They chatter too incessantly to read between the lines,
Now a spoonful of madness unifies the raucous throng
And silences that one low voice which truly does belong.

Ha! I like this poem very much - such a unique experience to read this one. Though I dare say you mean "They chatter too incessantly..." LOL - There's something to be said about a spoonful of madness - If everyone had just a spoonful - do you think then that the world would not be the cesspool of bloody murder that it is now? That in the supplication of downing the spoonful of madness that we would see each other as more alike and to be embraced, rather than so much different and worthy of being stabbed in the back, the kneecap, the spine and the big toe.

Wonderful write = Thanx for the sharing.

Jacquii.

PS - no silencing of the One voice that shall belong LOL

Awesome, thanks for the pick-up I don't know how many times I've overlooked simple things like that.
I think with the way the world is today it going to take a lot more the just a spoonful to turn things around and bring us back to some semblance of civility.
Thanks for taking the time to read, truly apprieciated

P.S. Just a silly fact about this write it came from Mary Poppins, you know - A spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down

Heya Lycan!
Could a spoonful of madness be the cause and cure for the religion equation? Perhaps...it would explain a lot, and you're not the first. That said, I do like this work, the visualization is very Alice, and the meter's good. Thank you for letting us read this one!
