The Sweetest Song ~ Sonnet
this thread has 6 replies and has been viewed 434 times
The sweetest song of days can faint be heard
when moon over the river soundless sleeps
and wind whispers the reverence of his word,
in sorrows depths of pain in silent weeps.
When tumbleweeds roll soft on windy dune
or flowers whisper springtime in a bloom
you can so hushed hear silence sing its tune
like autumn's crimson leaflets flighty zoom.
Inside this song of silence volume sings
like the voice of reason when wrong persuades
and peace of mind and soul is what it brings
like a walk through God's pretty palisades.
In these quiet reflections light takes shape
and once where darkness sheltered fears escape.

Wow, I can hear that sweet song, faintly of course. This is place where the "Sounds Of Silence" is not a bad thing. Wonderfully done. Kyanta is right, this poem is peace embodied.
