The Tranquility of the Forest

The Tranquility of the Forest
~
I desire to be in the forest
A place that’s so serene and tranquil
To be Alone with Mother Nature
To observe the Maker of our world
~
I yearn to withdraw from the city
A place polluted with the a tense nervous energy
And living a life with the cities frenzied velocity
That’s ravaging the quintessence out of me
~
I crave to be quickly transported
Going on a journey back in time
To a unostentatious life
With a slower, simpler existence
~
I long to be in the forest
Gathering new energy from the wilderness
Rejuvenating my anguished heart
Letting my soul soar in the lofty tangerine sky like an eagle
~
I wish to be in the presence of Mother Earth
Hearing her gentle voice calling me
Hearing the call of the majestic eagle
Listening to the "ancient ones"whispering in the breeze
~
I’m in the solace of the colorful forest
Beneath the canopy of a picturesque sky
Where my heart and soul are at peace
And my spirit can soar the mountaintops with an eagle

Incredible Bear,
you've penned such a beautiful escape.

I've felt the same yearning, but have come to the realization that even though it looks like a tranquil time then, it had it's own problem.

I read this and thought of when I was in my hammock last summer and heard the same whispers!

Beautiful poem, as usual.

G'day Thomas...
When I lived in Gippsland, I spent many hours blending in amongst the pristine scrub.
You are right...if there is a heaven on earth it is being amongst nature as it is meant to be.
Enjoyed your poem mate.

Lindsay
