Tribute to Love
this thread has 8 replies and has been viewed 255 times
To all the women in this world,
whom I have chanced to love.
With trumpet blare and flags unfurled,
this tribute is thereof.
The scanty fragrance of a smile,
a flow of unbound hair.
The ripple of a faultless guile,
a charged, come hither stare.
A walk that screams a thousand tales,
a glance that can convey,
the promise rife with all details,
that could be mine today.
A form designed for wanton lust,
a lip line curving sweet,
and fabric stretched across the bust,
where outlined nipples greet.
I still remember every one,
they live in memory,
vibrant as the morning sun,
forever young to me.
In truth, no one can ever die,
If remembered they be.
Then each will live as long as I,
In beauty, wild and free.
So unto each I raise my glass,
in tribute thee I toast.
My time with each shall never pass,
with those I loved the most.

Awesome write! Sure makes me wonder if any of my old boyfriends think like that! LOL!
Your whole 6th stanza could be an inspirational poem all on it's own!
I really enjoyed reading this one because it has the same high-calibre qualities of professionalism that I have seen in all of your works. TY so much for posting!
Altree.......thank you for your kind comments. I see you are a Canadian. I lived for many years close to the Canadian B.C. border in Washington state. Many are the times I have visited and enjoyed friendships in your country. Thanks again for reading and quoting.

Erik.....Thanks for the comments. As you grow through the years the day will come when you look back and recognize there were many loves in your life, although not necessasarily of a sexual nature. Love takes many forms for many reasons.

Dear Sartor,
This is quite a tribute. I loved the concept that the poem is for ALL the woman you have loved. That is very nice in itself. The poem reads with beautiful fluidity and balance. Quite lovely. It is nice to see a man scribe such a wonder poem about woman; I love it. It is always a treat to read your works, as they are beautiful. Thank you for sharing this.
Painted.......How kind of you to take the time to tell me how much you enjoyed the poem. To quote an old quote.....The sweetest of all sounds......is praise.

Wow Sartor!
Your poem was breathtaking! Simply beautiful.
How splendid this poem was. I wonder if the women you've loved in your life written within your poem, has really ever realized how much love you gave them. And still remember them.
Great write Sartor! A must re-read for sure. Thank you for sharing.
