I got out of bed and tripped over the cat.
She shot out of the door and slid on the mat.
Right up to the dog, who gave chase of course!
Meowing and barking until I was hoarse,
shouting stop commands and then the action froze,
but kitty made a sudden turn, claws full out on puppy's nose!
Puppy yelped and spun around, knocking over a chair.
The chair upended and hit the wall, and the picture that once hung there,
hangs there no more, but puppy is fine, kitty's not dead
and as for me, I went back to bed.
Some days it just doesn't pay to get up.
If you don't believe me, ask the pup.
Note: The pics are of my cat, Sassy, taken just after I caught her using my sofa as a scratching post and my Sheltie, Blueberry, taken in my front yard.

LOL @ V! - Sounds like you've had a few of these kinds of mornings, yourself! I like mornings, really - I just like them better in the afternoon!
Erik - I have found that no matter how bad things may seem, eventually the good times roll back around again. This is why so much of my poetry does have a happy ending, because I write of my own true experiences. I strive always for peace and to give reassurance - and I am glad that my writing reflects that. My hope is to do that without being boring!
Thanks again for the comments; very much appreciated!
