Twilight Ride
A soft breeze blew flowed through the leaves of the trees
The birds were singing sweet melodies
The scent of wild-flowers and honeysuckle filled the air
Flower petals drift from the cherry and apple trees
Drifted through the breeze this spring twilight
Along the edge of the grove were lush green ferns
As she rode amidst all this splendor of nature
So quiet and tranquil
~
Her beautiful stallion born on vast prairies
Now stabled upon her ranch
Protected from the symphony of summer storms
And being hunted by man
~
When she rode she knew her stallion was
The brother to the mighty Zephyr,
And the starlit night is their canopy
As the skies darken
~
In the cadence of its hoof beats
You can hear the majestic song that
Mother Nature softly whispers
In the moonlit grove
~
Freedom whispers on the wind
When they venture out for a ride
In natures magnificent twilight
On this beautiful spring day
