A Wolf's Moon

A Wolf’s Moon
~
As night falls silently
The ivory moon rises slowly
She pacing like an animal caged,
A she-beast trapped in a ravine alone.
~
Wolves howl in the distance.
She’s dreamt to be one of them,
Fearless, hushed and powerful.
Her voice joins in their song,
~
In a vibrant howl, until a wolf
Finds her scent and summons her
To run with him search of prey and shelter
Instead she just stands there
In the woods traversed in moonlight.
~
The constatation Orion,
The benevolent protector, stands silently
In a sparkling cluster of stars
The nocturnal winds blowing
Through her long red hair
Her brilliant blue eyes gaze into the heavens
~.
Suddenly in the dark, the rustling of the leaves.
Poised ready to run for the safety of the moonlight
When she see the lonely wolf emerge from the woods
Proud, strong, he advances quietly
She has given her answer,
Embracing the invitation of his enticing grey eyes.

Dear Bear,

This is incredible, and is going into my favorites right now. I love the concept as she is dreaming of becoming one of them (the wolf), and becoming one with them. I also love (technically speaking) how you incorporate the constellation of Orion as we know Orinon is the Hunter, and would be obviously the protector. Also Orion is a winter constellation in the Northern Hemisphere, and when I saw you write about the leaves then I said ahh, even the seasons were lined correctly, leaves meaning fall, and then winter to validate Orion's appearance. Awesome. The colors, the enchantement, the allure, the images, the concept, all were beautifully executed here. A wonderful, wonderful write Bear. Handshakes and hugs to you, lol. An excellent rating!
