Note (Etheree)
Created by Arkansas poet Ethere Taylor Armstrong, this form consists of 10 lines of unmetered and unrhymed verse. Should rhymes occur - consider them a bonus! The first line has one syllable (this is also the title), and each line adds a syllable. Thus the syllable count is: 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10. This form is meant to focus on one idea or subject.
The Etheree has only 1 verse. If there is more than one verse (dealing with the same subject) it is called an
Ethere.
There is also the
Reverse Ethere/Etheree, which is created with a syllable count starting with 10 in the first line, down to 1 in the last line. In this case, the last line is also the title.
Normally when a form is a "double", it means that there are 2 verses of the same type. This is Not true in the case of the
Double Ethere. This form is created with the syllable count of: 1 - 10, 10 - 1. Note that there are 2 of the 10 syllable lines in the middle of the verse. In this case the title is the FIRST one-syllable word.

Double Reverse (or inverted) Ethere then, is created by using the syllable count of 10 - 1, 1 - 10, again with the title being the First one-syllable word.

Triple Ethere uses the syllable count of: 1 - 10, 10 - 1, 1 - 10. For larger versions of the Ethere, simply follow that same pattern.
