Your Bone of Contention

My body feels so weak,
I strain to hold a single feather.
But don't think that I'm not strong enough
To hold myself together.

My eyes swell up with tears,
I see your face as just a blur.
But don't think I can't see through you.
I see those colors un-obscured.

I'm so tired from my worries.
They keep my sleep from me at night.
But don't think I'm worried that my worries
Will make me fall without a fight.

You push these walls that are around me.
They crumble down, you think I'm done.
But don't think that it's that easy.
Know that I will overcome.

Awesome, Ashley!! Lots of strength of character peeking through the worrywart! That's all that matters in the end...overcoming!

Loved it!!

What a beautiful message ASHLEY --- How many times I've said similar words myself - Oh! If these walls could talk. I'm pretty sure they'd speak of bones of contention as well - Interesting title for your poem... At anyrate - I just wanted to comment on the final line of your poem:

Quote:
Know that I will overcome.
So do I - So congrats on coming to that realization.
It's definitely something to smile about = Thanx for sharing your poem!

Jacquii.
