Spark Your Creativity #1 (Halloween Challenge)
OK - I think some of you may find this one fun. A Halloween challenge of sorts - so of course the challenge words are of the "season"
----------------
Challenge:
Write a 20 line (or more) poem incorporating the following words and phrases: - ghouls
- stew
- Gretel's witch
- sticks & stones
- pumpkin pie
- President Bush
The title must be "All Hallows Eve" - but the theme doesn't necessarily have to be Halloween. For example, it could be about what President Bush eats on Thanksgiving OR chili-bean stew in September OR a limerick incorporating the story of Hansel & Gretel...
Use your imagination and have fun!
Jacquii.
btw - I shall post my All Hallows Eve soon

All Hallows Eve
All Hallows Eve
Sticks and stones
will break the bones
of politicians like President Bush.
All those fools
are greedy ghouls,
with reams of red tape and paper to push.
With a pitch
like Gretel’s witch,
they promise much but give just a fraction.
I believe
All Hallows Eve
Is the best time to get satisfaction.
In disguise
we’ll get those guys
for growing fat while the taxpayers stew.
We can sneak
and get a peek
and see what next they are planning to do.
If it’s bad
And we’ve been had,
with sticks and stones we’ll beat them for their lie.
If it’s worse
and makes us curse,
we’ll steal their dinner and their pumpkin pie!
Since this is new, not sure if I'm posting this right or not! Oh well, if it's not right, MsJ can fix ANYTHING! Also - I'm Canadian and not up on US presidents but I'm not predjudiced - I hate all politicians equally! LOL!

All hallow's eve
part political part prose, just think about it spooky ain't it
I've left Gretel's witch,
for a lady who wants to ditch me already,
I search for kids that look like Harry Potter,
they always look like lambs to the slaughter,
I don't give them treats until they perform a magical feat,
I tell you Halloween would be much kinder when your fat like I'm
if every house instead of candy gave you a pumpkin pie,
I'm usually just around like stew,
pouting like Stewie,
to anyone who knew me,
every mom knows who needs Halloween,
when their kids already a goth or ghoul,
How's halloween in Iraq I wonder,
are they saying sticks and stone won't break bones,
while making bombs for us in their homes,
Just watch president Bush or ask,
I bet he catches his wife wearing a Bin Laden mask,
All halow's eve you can catch the fright,
when what should really scare ya,
is what is in that haunted house?,
is it a ghost, a demon, or is it Condelessa Rice?
What of all things I want to see the Halloween,
is a Cheney hunting party, with shotgun wounds bleeding,
My dad will have his dangling spider routine,
for this second year, last year I tried to stomp on it,
it wouldn't be caught,
I'm not too much of a spider fan, except spiderman, i'm a fan,
This Halloween will pass hopefully very spooky,
while children get scared,
grown-ups get artsy,
in the haunted house,
things have gotten rather wacky,
as the least popular President ever,
wants to be President forever.

Erik! Hehehe I know ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about American politics, except who Bush is - and thats just because he's always on OUR tv too! But I enjoyed this piece, and smiled throughout!
I search for kids who that look like Harry Potter <- I tripped there, what's that line mean? "who that" is a strange word combination...
every mom knows who needs Halloween,
when their kids already a goth or ghoul, <-positively inspiring!
things have gotten rather wacky,
as the least popular President ever,
wants to be President forever. <-just... awesome!
Overall Erik, just a couple typos (for example, "instaed") that should be fixed... But nonetheless, another great write! Now I'm thinking I should try this out.... ehehe
Smiles!,

TY, Erik!
I know of no way to take the bitterness out of writing about something you don't like. If you ever figure out how to do that, let me know! What makes it even harder is having to use particular words and phrases. This was a really cool exercise though. Are you going to try meeting this challenge? If you do, I'd love to read it! TY again!

Hi Erik!
I wasn't sure where to post mine either! I posted mine as a New Thread only because that way, it will come up when I click on "My Topics". This way, to see the comments you get, it might get tangled up with other replies to this challenge. I dunno which way we're supposed to do it.
Anyway, it is here, I found it and I am so glad I did because I just love it! I really like that part about:
"while children get scared,
grown-ups get artsy,"
That is SO true! My sister decorated her porch while her kids watched TV and I think SHE had the most fun! LOL!
Good write, Erik! TY for posting!

I fixed the typos serenity maybe not all of them but the ones you pointed out
I'm glad you found so many parts you liked in this, it'd be nice if you new about Cheney and condelessa Rice you don't need to know much anbout them to get the poem, then you'd get more parts of the poem,
I'm happy about the parts that you got though and of course would read if you answered the challenge,
tree glad you found it I'm still waiting for msJ to transport this one,
I tried to place it as a new thread, first but it didn't show anyways thanks for liking this one great tree, yeah my dad actually got very creative while I still just want to get scared by something

Fixed the threads - but still looks weird - The next challenge will be that much easier AND yes! SERENITY you should definitely meet the challenge!

-----------
MS TREE AND MR ERIK - very astonishing writes: both! I just new by throwing Mr. Bush's name into the mix - there'd be some interesting (if not possitively beautiful writings )

All Hallow's Eve by MsJacquiiC
As the wind farts fond whiffs of pumpkin pie,
Kids run around in cloven hooves looking like ghouls -
Who'd know that their masks are faux-real? (the season readies...) President Bush with sticks & stones in mind
Threatens Al-Quaidaed heros with American stew,
Bullying them into submission: "Ho-killed." (the season's steady...) Was this ever God's country?
Where we speak of true freedom,
Whilst spooking our kids with stories
Of Gretel's Witch?
I'd like to think so - But my mind keeps
Telling me, "No!"
Perhaps 'tis time for Spring
