Sealiah, perhaps you were reincarnated from that era? You seem to have a beautiful way with words and thoughts of times gone by. Congratulations. Thank you, tamm0449

Can't seem to get the brain working quite right today, sorry, this is the only thing I could think of at the moment.

Queen of England in America

Oh Queen of England I bid to you
A welcome with our American Spirit,
We thank you for your acceptance of us
And remained our friends when other's have quit.

I don't know if you like to read
Or what your resources for poesy might be,
But I'm quite sure you are well adversed
And I hope youl enjoy Washington D.C.

I don't mean to be whatever it is you might call it
But what about England's exquisite lingerie,
Is it dashing enough to wear out on the town
Like our Hollywood stars think are okay.

Do you ever have a taste for the French cuisine
Or do you have a special meal in mind,
Our American Pie is the best in the West
Here we have apples of every kind.

Oh Canada, can you sense our excitement
For the Queen who has come to town,
Where she will visit a settlement in America
And the 400th Anniversary of our Jamestown.

Very nice LINDA - As you see I didn't even post a poem in this thread - I've been battling writers block for what seems like forever and a few days. I do get inspired (sometimes LOL) by the WOSIB Lit Group writing challenges though...

Anyway - glad you posted - Look forward to seeing more of your poetry on JPiC
