Kaya...yes, that was a real coincidence...it looks like life is preparing you ahead of time for what's ahead...if that is any indication...and it's a wonderful poem as well. Perfect and beautifully written!!

When I created this challenge I did know that the poems that would be forthcoming would be absolutely stunning, full of emotion, and yes, all about you. I am in awe of the poems (ALL OF THEM)!!!!! This is one hell of a community we got here....

Thanks, this world is full of coincidence, good ones. Thanks for reading it, you wrote an amazing one too, esp this stanza :

This is who I choose to be
because honor prevails
because life’s trails
all lead to God
and death is but
the beginning
of life.

Btw another coincidence is i wrote 20 lines, which is part of the rules too
*smiles*

Ms. Nomad - Oups, that's not what I intend to say... you could change the rules instead, coz your piece is wonderful and needs not shorten it. *smiles*

Ms. Mango - Can't think of a good title, I placed it as 'Striving Boy' =D

I guess I make mistakes aplenty
could be because I am no longer twenty?
I begin to ponder my mortality
and often wonder if I will be a fatality.

I am often truculently disposed
to argue right from wrong, I chose
to listen only to my heart
and have answers stored so I don't come apart.

I am stubborn when I know I am right,
this happens often when I fight
that folks begin to learn
the way my mind turns and churns.

I often want to have my own way
because I am tired of following everyone else's say.
When is it going to be my turn
for all the ease of life ,by now, I should have earned.

Yeah sometimes I feel really greedy
and lonely and tired and awful needy.
And sometimes I am wise beyond my years
it shows during the quiet of my lonely tears.

This here is my alter ego..... and it is the 20 lines requested. Was fun to do and there are soooo many great poems in here despite being over 20 lines. I have enjoyed them all ... Nomad your work is sure maturing ... Me thinks you have come into your own hon.... Awesome work lately. Mango and JolieH and Kit and Miss C .... Everyone really Awesome writes and Thank you all for the wonderful peeks into You.

Love Mysty

I could swear I posted this poem in here once ... still getting used to the forums, I guess

... anyway, here it is:

In the pink

because of You i'm in the pink
i'm pink and warm and orange and beige
there is some black and lots of green
and red though i don't stay that way

while in the pink i found some blue
the tears are gray though they don't stay
and in the pink i found some new
deep Maroon, it made a Stain

pink is brave and strong not sad
and orange and beige are bursts of joy
black and green are depths and shade
red is rage against load

blue is sorrow, and gray is grief
but there's a day where they are gone
and in the pink I find relief
You're not far - it won't be long

because of You i'm in the pink
and in the pink I'm sure to stay
Maroon when wiped away is pink
Maroon that's Bled and washed away

Wow..... that was really colorful and visual. For me I find green is a healing color and shades of gray and black are depth and often despair. This was a beautiful intro to your writing Beth. I truly enjoyed this read.

Hi Mysty, thank you for your kind comments. ...I was thinking of woodlands when I thought black and green ... woodlands in the rain. I find the cool colors are all either sorrowful or peaceful ... or both.

The title of this whole board (Poetry in Color) must have been in the back of my mind when I wrote this.
