Oh My! That poem was HAWT Mike! Great write and personifies the mask very well - I particularly like the last 2 lines about a "Woman deep in love" - quite creative!
--------

Thanx BETH - It was a quick blues piece - just one verse - but I think it works well, speaking for the heart-shaped stone!

I like your 2nd write as well! I have a few dogs myself actually and when I saw that pic on DeviantArt I couldn't help but to include it - Very nice job

Jacquii.

NOW - WHERE IS EVERYONE AT - I THOUGHT YAWL'D LIKE THESE LAST 2 WRITING EXERCISES

Short Blueblack Stain

stained. stained am i. motionless
as the antarctic dripping sickles of motionless water. frozen
in time where there's nothing but heartachen momentum.
i cry myself to sleep in daytime hours.

blue. blue am i. an icesickle or sorts; you can call
me a stalactite.

on the heir of notoriety i sit
collecting dust like vampiric must; i'm like guano
in the dewy dawn of morning:
shit of the ages, only rock
solid and dispensable like wetness.

ha. i'm almost liquid
if you look closely and relate like yesteryear.

do you know Me?

Ozone Destruction

OZONE DESTRUCTION

Oh how Father Sky looks down upon me.
Sighing as the humans destroy Him.
All the cruel humans sputtering poison through roaring monsters.
Father sky tells me many stories
through the tears He lets drop upon me
The clear, pure tears that fall
run though my living veins
and i feel His saddened soul
flow through and give me life.
I feel the pain of the toxins released into him
killing that which gives the humans cause to live
His protection over life breaks
As Mother sun sees His weakened hold
She forces her harmful wrath through Him
Causing disease and death through all of us.
Father Sky fights his best as I also partake in my share
I provide the living matter animals need to survive
Yet the humans do not appreciate, no not at all.
Sadly, but surely, their stupidity and stubborness will eventually be our downfall.

Chapter Six : Book of Midnight Dreams

Burn the hands that hold
this book in mockery

A cryptic prophecy of the highest hierarchy of evil
still breathes fire of ancient ink

Blind eyes that seen my pages have fallen prey
to beasts of darkness in their dreams

Tongues are cut out of the mouths in their sleep
who tried to speak my words

Brains are devoured of those
who try to analyze my contents

Faceless to those who disbelieve in the arcane
Those who believe can see the face of the beast himself

PD

Wow - Very imaginative pieces both KIM & DROFDAR - very intricate pieces of poetry with dark meanings, perhaps shedding a bit of light on those dark places that forever piques our imaginations.

Wonderful poems YAWL - appreciates the sharing

Jacquii.

Wonder Dog~

Wow everyone has some excellent replies to the challenge!
Nice work!

~WONDER DOG~

Out of all these humans walking by,
I look different and I wonder why.
I talk like them and eat and sleep.
Even from my eyes I weep.

They wear clothes so why don’t I?
We’re both smaller than God’s big sky.
I think like them but they don’t know.
If only I could let it show.

Why is my nose longer than theirs?
And why do I have several more hairs?
Why do I have four legs and they have two?
Still, I’m man’s best friend and that means you.

They get to drive and come and go as they please
and they don’t have to sleep on the cold ground and freeze.
Well, it’s a backwards world so I just nod
and think, so what, backwards I’m a god.
