Spark Your Creativity #20 (Everyone Has A Scent)

Everyone has a scent that undoes them or a memory they recall because of a scent.

Please write a poem or a short story using either these phrases to start them:

1. Everyone has a scent that undoes them....

or

2. The scent that took me back to my childhood.......

Quote:
when i was still a small epiphany
in my mothers womb
It's like a hint of sacred, reflecting back to the time of innocense.

Back in the Days

The scent that takes me back to my childhood
shows innocence still inside my soul
My face hidden inside my jacket hood
flaunting my innocence breaking the rules

My nose buried deep inside a book jacket
smelling the paper and ink, heavenly
until the slap of a ruler then sweat
dripping down my face, I glare sullenly

Leave me to my peaceful dreams, the worlds found
in the pages of novels and books,
places I visited, came back around
time and time again, made me feel a crook

stealing other's lives, flaunt reality
losing my sense of connectivity.

Honeysuckle~

Wonderful poems Whitman and Mysty!
I like them both.

~HONEYSUCKLE~

Everyone has a scent that
undoes them and the scent that
curls my toes is the white
on the tip of a honeysuckle stem.

Sweet and succulent the
fragrance tickles my nose.
If only they made honeysuckle clothes!
I’d bath in waters of its florid springs
and then jump into my
frou-frou fresh clothing
and smell like a floret flowering.

Carried through my curtains
on a summer afternoon or wafting
through an open window driving down
a road is a divine experience
straight from Heaven’s abode.

I pour its sachet Eau De Parfum
over me like rain and it
drives my olfactory insane.

Its herbal elixir in
shower gels and lotions make
my body scream as the honey-suck
sensation excites my flesh
through fields of dreams.

The best scent on this earth
is honeysuckle for sure and I bet if
they could capsule it,
it would be my illness’ cure.
