Anger

is a prowling Pit Bull
roaming the streets all
big and bad...boy is this guy Mad!
he recently had been fired
from his job as
baddest in the street
which wasn't so neat
for him
and surely not for other's
in the street!

LOVE

is a purring kitten
cuddling in the lap of loneliness
and it is warmth that radiates
as if her heart were the summer sun
as she wraps her body snuggly,
with a dreamy repose,
head tucked in paws, curled
like a sleeping snake.
Caring flows through hearts
between animal and human created
from togetherness of affection.
They bond content in the knowing
that one to the other nourishes.

ANGER

is a coiled snake
ready to strike in defense.
It wraps around reason
and squeezes tight until
insanities all that’s left,
then coiled tight, it smothers love
like a closed fist in a fit of violence.
Words cold as a snake
twist from the tongue in haste,
spitting venom on unsuspecting victims
leaving a bitter aftertaste.
Like snakes, humans have
many layers of skin and, when angry,
the skin is shed to reveal their sin.

Wow, that's just fantastic! I really did enjoy anger being protrayed as a snake but all of the entries are great... but, I just got done reading the Anger one and that is definitely really well-done and the ending is very strong and leaves you thinking. I gotta come up with some more animals and emotions, hmmm... anywho, keep them coming!

DECEIT

is a chameleon in disguise
changing colors to suit its ego.
Deceit branches out in a
camouflage of lies like a chameleon
blends in with its environment.
Humans and chameleons both wear
the colors well when they feel
threatened by the lack
of security in the game of survival.
It is a coat of many colors
worn by chameleons in defense
but worn by humans in arrogant
pride and like a thief in the night,
deceit will steal your heart
leaving you feeling soulless.

Prideful

Is a bantam rooster strutting
before his harem
head thrusting forward
then back
red comb swaying
with each step
as a shadow creeps up behind him.

Wow! Nice writes YAWL - I do like the analogy of the prideful rooster strutting around - it's so true to the animal I think, as even the strut is a bit prideful LOL

I think I shall try an animotion poem too.... Perhaps soon...
