Abecederian/Abcedarium

Hello MsJ!
You may want to change abecedarium to abecederian because dictionary.com defines abecedarium as a primer for teaching the alphabet and abecedarian as pertaining to the alphabet. This is a minor point made in the interest of accuracy. I really appreciate this new section, it has been a terrific help with my writing already! Thanks again!

Hey TREE - I've done a little research on the abecedarium and the abecederian...

----> abecedarium <----
http://www.cafemo.com/lehman/abcs.html
http://middlewesterner.typepad.com/m...cs_of_poe.html
http://www.poetryrenewal.com/forms/000/2.shtml
-----------
-----------

----> abecederian <----
http://www.spinelessbooks.com/table/...ecedarian.html
-----------

ABC poem which I didn't feel the need to list in the definitions...
http://www.types-of-poetry.org.uk/01-abc-poem.htm
http://www.poemofquotes.com/articles/poetry_forms.php

-------------------------------------

So as you can see there seems to be a consensus that the two are synomymous... The abc poem is pretty much the same as well. I found 2 different definitions of it - one of the definitions says there's no set lines & that each letter of each line begins with the letters of the alphabet ----> the other definition says the ABC poem is made up of only 5 lines, the 1st 4 begin "abcd" and the last line begins with any letter, the purpose of the poem begin to descibe/create a mood...

So I think what I'll do is update the Abecedarium to Abecedarium (also known and refered to as the Abecedarian) LOL

Always nice to find the middle ground

Thanx again for bringing it to my attention - ALSO will do a bit of searching on the Whitney style you listed the other day!

Jacquii.

That looks good to me, MsJ! Middle ground is so seldom reached and such a nice place to be!
