This is a little naughty for me, but It was a Sept. challenge at PSU writing workshop. I decided to give it a try.

An afternoon with Fischl

Sun beats through the apartment window,
saturating yellow lilies, her bare legs in lime heels.
A red velvet blanket draped
over her shoulder like a bull fighters cape,
hands in her lap, legs crossed,
a soft smile, admirable stare.

He stands, across the room, like sculpture,
loosely posed, robe untied, decorum self-assured.
Rays of light warm his abdomen, genital exposed,
head turned away, mouth drawn down,
he waits approval, not yet giving her notice.

You paint a great picture with words, indeed. The visual is comin' through - it's workin' for me. Nice penning.....

lol@lasher!! Jolie, that was very short and sweet and definitely gave us a very vivid picture...painting aside. I like the play of emotion on both their parts, hers giving and his holding back...the need for approval. Yes, even without the painting I could see it perfectly.
