-Amanda's Eyes-
That hot August morning
As I got in the driver's seat
Of the car,
I back out of the drive
Knowing of what I left behind.
On my way to North Carolina and California,
All that captured my mind
Were the times I left behind.
I said goodbye,
I had to.

I seen the look in
Amanda's eyes
When I looked at her
And started to say goodbye,
But instead,
I said,
"Until next time, I'll love you all the same."
I seen tears begin to fall
From her innocent face,
I cried with her
Giving her a hug to last
Until next time may finally come.

The horror's she faces
In her dreams at night
As she screams my name
And cries for me in her sleep.

She didn't understand
Why I was leaving,
And I didn't want to hurt her more.

Each time I talk to her
Or see her picture,
My mind remembers
The look in Amanda's big blue eyes,
When I said,
"Until next time."

Fighting back the tears
Gets harder with each day.
Never realizing what you had
Until you up and leave,
To start anew.

The hells and horrors,
The ups and downs,
It's all my fault...

Picturing the tears falling
From Amanda's eyes...

I love you my little sister.

Awww Holly....... this is truly a heartbreaking but beautiful tribute to your little sister. You know there comes a day in all of our lives when we have to make that break .... to take the first step for ourselves. Your little sis will understand one day. The day she takes her first step to the rest of her life. You did Justice to this heartrending situation. It brings me back to my own first step.. Thank you for sharing this beautiful tribute to your sister. I hope she grows to appreciate the love you have for her.

and so pretty and emotional,
you attached heart to this,
which is a thought to me why show a stranger?
I keep my pen writing wisdow instead of true heart,
sharing personal things is hard and I think best kept to yourself,

one other thing though is when you transcribe your heart like that it is profound and
undenyable,
