Come Listen To The Music of My Heart

Come listen to the music of my heart
As it dips and spins in natural choreography
During a lavish naked ball held for two in the night
The sparse dull room mellow with muted light
We made do with rusted candlesticks
Lit in splendor with bits of leftover candle
A single rose, although wilting in the heat
Almost seemed to dance to the marimba beat
The Tango was quick, the Salsa hot and wild
Two bodies coalesced with the triple time waltz
Through mountainous waves of liquid symphony

Come listen to the music of my heart
Each beat I feel striking boldly on a drum
Solidly pounding, steadily counting
Each throb
Like a harp it hums….
Blood flows through veins in a violinic trance
Gliding smoothly toward destiny
Like the cobra swaying to the hypnotic flute
A rich, thick life force warm and loving
Keeps this romanticized organ beating

Come listen to the music of my heart
Wandering through the scented gardens of my mind
The sensuous saxophone still keeping time
Come take my hand, outstretched and waiting
For stimulating orchestras to be directed
One more time

The way you phrased things made this poem so great,
all the metaphors were awesome

Don't start! Put your series to shame indeed. Totally impossible! But I appreciate the compliment very much. This is one of my favorite pieces!

borne away

I was just borne away on the beautiful lilting melody of this composition. It has body and spirit - a great read!
