My Last 12 Hours
I was dizzy waiting for a friend.
It was late when I called Douglas.
Today he got married, he was late even then.
He said"I'd be there soon, alright."
I forgot this was his honey-moon night.
My heart was pounding, my head rang like raindrops on tin.
When all I needed was a friend.
"Rebecca, you once loved me-
please come see me."
I left that message after the beep.
Time never minded me until into the deep I sleep.
Leaving me cold as time did not wait.
Douglas arrived late.
Rebecca never showed.
Leaving cold.
After my last shot of scotch.
In my 12th hour....all I could do is watch.

LOL!!! nooo never that Mysty! The names here in this work are real and these people were my real friends at one time. But in real life, this situation will never happen because 1.) I've got at least 30 friends I could depend on and 2 stalkers that swear their not. 2.) I know how to find an hospital! Thanks for reading and posting your comment on this write Mysty!

Hey Lil' Brother....this is deep....real deep. In all its brevity....my emotions are spinning and like Mysty said, got goosebumps. One can tell that this was written from a personal perspective as the words are "breathing" from this poem. I'm glad you have things under control and as far as your writing.....well....you keep blowing me away with your talent. Just wow. Hey thank for reading and your comments on this write Erik, you are very right to depend on family more than friend in the time of need. I do honestly and I don't because they are so disfunctional. This write here was more-less a test write. Sort-of-like walking in the outer space of my mind. Kinda of a weird feeling! Thank again for your thoughs on this write!
