Spinning

I wish you would come, sit on the green grass,
drink coffee in tanks, listen to birds and distant cars.
I want you to feel the sun warm your flesh as it browns.

We could drive to the coast, rent a giant tube,
squeeze through the hole together, opposite sides, our
stomachs meeting, on occasion, as we rock with the swells.

We’d drink margaritas from leather wine skins,
lie our heads back, close our eyes, and breathe the salty air,
spinning circles behind the breaking waves.
