Summer Storms

“Summer storms”

She comes and goes
Waiting every night
To see her lightning
Dance across my sky
~~
Missing her like a desert flower
Wanting rain
~ ~
Emotions fill
The evening skies
From the west
To the east
~
She fills my soul with a Kentucky rain
White picket fences
Line the fields
She rains on
Horses graze
In the sweet blue grass
Of
Kentucky
~~
Gracefully
Watching her
As she comes to feed
~
Hand held open
Just in time
To embrace you
~~
Swaying you
Out into the open
Of this nights Kentucky rain

this is tranquil and reminds me of storms growing up...the long hard rains counting one alligator two alligator three alligator after the lightning waiting for the thunder. you mention rains of kentucky several times, why didnt you call it that...just curious.

Nice and soothing poem ART - I like it very much actually - Probably because of the down-south aspect - And being from Tennessee I can grasp the tranquil nature of your piece

Your poem speaks of freedom - Indeed the summer storms refreshes - that's the image I get from this poem - Freedom and refreshment.

Nice write = Thanx for sharing it

Jacquii.
