The power you use to overthrow my weaknesses
Comes flaring out of your depths like an angry animal
Preying on small inconveniences of your life.

I toss and turn hoping you’ll come to ease my pain
But instead you whip me and crush me into submission
Until I bleed with a lack of opinion, a lack of dignity.

My heart is torn and with it my life and the ties which bind me to you
In love and passion, My life has no more meaning
And in my mind I am already dead, for you have stopped loving me.

Although this whole poem is fantastic, your first two lines set the pace for me...
It's sadly funny how sometimes we love something we could never have or shouldn't..

Hey now B&D I am a living testament to the fact there is hope and recovery from such mental abuse. I was told for years to find myself a boyfriend because..... I asked for it too much... because I was too needy?..... because I just didn't feel his love. I used to think it was all my fault. I grew to know it was not ALL my fault and although I never intended to find myself a bf .... never went looking ..... I did find one. He lives in the Netherlands and I in Canada. We correspond and yes we have met in real life.. and that was sheer bliss. But I am not free to move to him and he is tethered to taking care of his elderly parents. Being the only son it is his responsibility. It is one of the things I fell in love with about him. He treats me like I am made of spun glass and he cherishes me like I have never been. So hon the first one didn't work out like I thought it would but there is life after degradation. My bf and I have been together going on 7 years as a couple even though we are apart. He is the muse that inspires all my sensual poetry. Anyways . .. I just wanted you to know I have been there........ and I survived and I bloomed, grew into the flower I was meant to be. This poem ..... so poignantly brought it all back to me. You have captured it like a snapshot of my earlier life. Excellent write hon.

First, great to see you and great to see your work Beautiful...we missed you.. This is one hell of a poem! You have scribed a lifetime to some in all its brevity, and to some a chapter in their book. The poem is executed flawlessly. Poetically this is masterful and full of emotion, that makes me want to come through the screen and hug you. The content sickens me that that type of manipulation occurs, and that some experience this monster. Thank you for writing this Beautiful...and if it is a true chapter in your book, remember that you are indeed Beautiful, and be thankful that you are moving on. I wrote this about my current boyfriend. I love him so dearly, and he loves me just as much. But we both struggle with our own mental illnesses, my Anxiety/Depression and his Bipolar. Sometimes we both fall and if one falls we bring the other down with us because we care so much.

I've been feeling really depressed lately and not because of him, but because i am stressed from TAFE and jsut everything in general. I feel kind of used by him atm and even though i know he loves me i jsut feel like he won't let me breathe. I feel like i'm on a tight leash and one false step will send me sprawling backwards as he pulls on the leash.

I'm hoping i will feel better soon. I jsut hope he will lay off me a little after i am recovered.
