Thy Lady Waits~


~THY LADY WAITS~

Chained to fate
thy lady waits,
her lover distant sails.
All through the night
with wine and whimper
thy lady mistress wails

and in her silent
misery of sorrow in thy heart,
she counts her falling
teardrops by the blue
of moon glow as madness
deep inside her starts it's calling.

A rose he sent
she holds in hand,
upon its petals a tear.
For somewhere far
thee braves big waves,
one drop and she is near.

She is the rose
she holds in hand
the thorns her heart inside.
Beauty sits in solitude
a paler shade of nude,
thy heartache deep to hide.

She's met someone
and married anew,
the wait too much to bear.
Ten years have passed
and life's been kind
but still she loves her sailor never there.

Still in her heart
thy lady waits,
her lover distant still
and through long nights
in silent dreams
his calling cuts a chill.

Out of the blue
We smile

On her darkest day

Taking my hand
We walk
life's secret paths

Karen,
This is so beautiful. I just love the images and story of a love that never dies. It's so full of sadness, yearning, and morning of the lost love. It would be so difficult to have a lover disappear never to return. I'm sure she would dream that he returns and wonders how she would tell him she chose another. This poor sad love that waits on and on is heart breaking to imagine.
