when I first met you,

you caught me unaware

I never thought someone
like you could ever be,

least of all for me

but you saw through my soul,
a woman pure of heart with a deep
desire to make you mine

and then you came to me, the two of us
free,

destined to be

now I know, each our stars says it’s so…

for billions of years we’ll shine, no matter
how far through time,

the sky will light our way, our eternity to stay

shine for me my sweet, and I for you,

for ever and a day.

Note: When I first met my new husband, he bought each of us a star; they reside together, close to the constellation “Orion”. From that I wrote this poem, sketchy tidbits that fell from my mind at the time.
