Offering infinite happiness?
Serenity. Understanding.
What is this
Left alone and abandoned on the day I was made for him?
What is this
That ignites my interest yet hinders at the entrance of your heart?
Makes me Happy. Content. Whole.
Carry joy in his smile, his touch, each stroke
Life isn’t the same any more. Chaos drowned by affection and attention
Mr. Right- my tranquility in Life’s storm
What is this that loves his children more than himself?
A father. A hero. An endangered species.
Strong Black man determined to achieve
The American dream.
A skilled craftsman with hands gentle like aloe
It does not make sense. A dream? A façade? Potential?
My fantasy fulfilled in every way
Tenderly 22 I await his realization of his destiny-
My superman. My relief. My escape.
What is this that confirms the notion-
“Good things do happen to good people”
Lord knows I deserve this encounter. Friendship. Romance.
What is this
That suffocates my heart in fear while simultaneously bringing nourishment to a starving soul
What is this
That trigger tremors from passion from the faintest smell of his presence
Or the slightest marvel of beauty before him
Silent feelings expressed.
Transported through earth shattering love making
Is this love?
Lust?
Intense attraction?
Is this love
That sort of happened out the blue between you and me?
Is this real? I must be dreaming.
If I am, waking up would be the nightmare
This,
This feeling warms my spirit, humbling my inner inhibitions
Subjecting my heart to forsaken vulnerability, and potential heartache
What is this
That makes my Nile flow ferociously every second I’m near him
Kissing him. Feeling him.
What is this that challenges my imagination to
Endless daydreams of intimate exchange of gratitude
What is this?
Wanting you inside me .
SLOOOOOOW.
FAST.
DEEP.
FORWARD.
CANDLELIT.
NAKED.
Is this really happening?
One month and I am gone
What is this
That allows me to instantly connect with your children
Maternally. Naturally.
You ask, and I shall do.

I like how you structured the 3-sentence lines. Creative actually - Makes the poem come together quite nicely whilst keeping the "What is this?" in the readers mind - a subliminal of sorts - Very nice!

This is very sensual. It has one of those vibes where you're at a cafe or lounge listenin to a poet on stage and the whole room is dark except where the poet and microphone are on stage. It entraps you early when you ask the question "who is this?" that automatically caught my attention and then when you described what this man does to you. Gosh makes me wanna take notes and step my game up some. Beautifully written from start to finish with no beatin around the bush with metaphors and such it is just straight forward action and intensity throughout...Thanks for the read;
